About

Hi! πŸ‘‹πŸ»

Thanks for taking the time to read my ‘About Me’. My name is Matt du Jardin and I live and work in Guernsey, Channel Islands. Guernsey is a really beautiful part of the world, if for whatever reason you ever end up here, feel free to get in touch with me (we’re a friendly bunch) – honest. πŸ˜‰

Anyway… About this blog, so I’ve been in IT for about 20 years (is it really that long?), and working as a Network Engineer for about 8. I currently work for a local telco delivering various Cisco based solutions.

Over the past few months – and for an upcoming customer deployment – I’ve been spending lots of time getting to know Cisco SD-WAN, Cisco DNA and Cisco ISE. These are all great products in themselves, and maybe one day Cisco will even merge SD-WAN and DNA to work as one *evil laugh πŸ‘Ή…. One thing about all these solutions though, is that they all have a fairly steep learning curve. As a Network Engineer, I now need to know, or at least have an understanding of, a whole plethora of protocols, some new, some old, but all now working to facilitate these new and wonderful solutions.

So… The idea behind this blog, is to share with people my experiences in deploying and operating these new technologies. I’m by no means an expert in any of them, but if I can blog about something, it forces me to understand it better, and in the process, hopefully I can help someone else out along the way.

Anyway, I think that’s all for now. If you wish to follow me on social media, please use the provided links.
